What is expected from an NXT Gamer writer?
The main thing we look for in a writer is a passion for the industry, you can’t write a good piece about something unless you are truly enthusiastic about it! Of course, a good writing skill and style helps too!
What is the required amount of articles per month?
We currently have no set requirement as to how much you must write a month, however, we expect regular commitment to the publication and fluent contact with our editors to keep us informed of what you’re able to produce each month.
Free games?! I want the free games!
It’s no lie that as a writer of NXT Gamer, there are benefits, the most predominant one is the review copies issued to writers, of course, in return we do expect a high quality, detailed and accurate review but afterwards the game is yours to keep! Reviews are additional content and do not make up for the two required features a month, this is because a feature is what makes NXT Gamer unique, no other site will have the same feature and they’re really what attracts readers, reviews are just as important however but aren’t as common. For example, there are occasionally months where there can be few releases which means the site would have no content with only reviews going up. Since you often get a free copy of the game to keep when you write a review, we see that as ample payment.
So I write for you, you pay me?
Currently, writing for NXT Gamer is on a voluntary basis, however, we strive to give our writers the best opportunities and experiences we can. This includes free access to various gaming events, review copies of the latest titles and of course, your writing is published online! Having your writing published on a successful UK games website is something that looks really great on your resumé.
