The majority of gamers play PC games and consoles purely for fun and enjoyment, but only a small number of these gamers have the skills and dedication necessary to become what you'd call a professional gamer. Professional gamers such as those who play StarCraft professionally are most popular right now in Asia (the game is pretty huge in Asia, not to mention Starcraft II) while other professio... more.Gears of War 3 Multiplayer Beta Hands-On

So there’s this game, right. It’s got swarms of Locust in it and you have to fight them off with big guns with chainsaw bayonets attached to them. Oh, and you've got to worry about somebody capturing your leader while trying to avoid being crushed by a giant stadium scoreboard. This game is Gears of War. Or more specifically, Gears of War 3. Fans of the series may be disappointed with the dela... more.Interview with Tim Willits, Creative Director for RAGE

The NXT Gamer staff were all in attendance at the 2010 Eurogamer Expo, and while there we managed to get an interview with Tim Willits, former co-owner of id Software, and creative director on their new release RAGE. Firstly I wanted to ask... which genre would you say that RAGE fits? That's a good question, because there's a lot of people wondering; it's an action shooter. And it is in firs... more.Bulletstorm Preview

At this year's Eurogamer Expo, tucked out of view with a small, discreet set up was Epic Games & People Can Fly's Bulletstorm. I managed to get a couple of plays of the relatively short demo that was on offer all weekend. The short, linear path takes you through a strange environment which seems to be a city riddled with lush greenery (complete with carnivorous plants) and you fight waves o... more.Gears of War 3 Beast Mode Preview

It's such a shame that going into the Eurogamer Expo last week we found out that Gears of War 3 has been delayed into from April to Fall 2011, but that didn’t stop us from playing the hugely anticipated Beast mode at length. My very first impression of the new mode was that it is virtually like the Horde mode, except you play as the Locust, so anyone familiar with Horde will instantly underst... more.Fable III Preview

At the 2010 Eurogamer Expo, one this year's most eagerly anticipated titles was on show: Fable III. The staff at NXT Gamer had the chance to get their hands on it and see if our latest return to Albion will be as great as the last. First off, I sat through the opening sequence of the game, which the majority of us have all enjoyed, watching the extremely well-animated chicken darting about the ... more.Ten of the Best Video Game Blades

I suffer badly from the thought process of "Hmm, what if this was made into a game?" with almost everything I read, watch and see. Couple this with my hobby of reading various Manga and graphic novels and my mind gets flooded with countless possibilities of great video games taken from those sources. Here are five that have stuck in my mind: 5. Apocalypse Meow Apocalypse Meow is a manga set duri... more.
