After a relatively quiet few weeks on the release front we're finally start to see 2012 picking up the pace with a couple of key titles out this week. With a 1% increase in sales from last week, FIFA 12 has managed to cling on to the top spot for another week with Modern Warfare 3 just unable to pass even with an 8% rise in sales. Capcom and Namco Bandai have confirmed that two of their most iconic characters, Mega Man and Pac-Man, will be appearing as playable characters in their forthcoming Street Fighter X Tekken title. Unfortunately for PC and Xbox 360 fans, these bonus characters will be exclusively released on the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita along with Toro and Kuro's Cole. FIFA 12 has survived five weeks at the top of the UK all format chart after officially making more money than any other sports games ever, according to Chart Track. Well it looks like we were wrong: FIFA 12 has managed to stay top of the the league for another week despite experiencing a whopping 63% drop in sales and us forecasting that it would fall from power. Gaming publishers Capcom have announced that a demo for their forthcoming Resident Evil: Revelations title will be heading to the Nintendo 3DS very soon. Sankei News, a Japanese news publication, has revealed that he Nintendo 3DS has set a record for the most sales in a single month in Japan. Even with Sony increasing their shipment of PS Vita consoles to Japan to 700,000 units, sales of the console are in fact down 40% week on week, with only 42,648 units sold in its third week.
